Background: He is one of the two main characters of the series. In a snowy Christmas night Rikuo finds a semi-unconscious Kazahaya in the street. He hesitates first, but after he hears Kazahaya, saying, "I will not die" Rikuo brings the other boy to the place where he lives: The 'Green Drug' Store, a pharmacy. Kakei, his boss and owner of the store, tells Rikuo that now Kazahaya is 'his to take care of,' this annoys him pretty much. When Rikuo leaves with Kazahaya in his arms, Kakei says to his co-worker and presumed lover, Saiga, that they were waiting for Kazahaya arrival because the boy will be very important to Rikuo.
So Kazahaya and Rikuo start to work together in the store and in some 'extra' jobs that Kakei tells then to do. All of those jobs have supernatural elements and require Rikuo and Kazahaya's special abilities to be completed. Rikuo has the capacity to do something like telekinesis: he can destroy small objects, can undo locks, openings, etc. But he is there is to save Kazahaya's ass. Kazahaya does the 'hard' work (sensing the object's past, cross-dressing...) and Rikuo saves him from whatever trouble he got in (sometimes he plays some role besides that, but in general? Just the protector). This strikes me as important because Kakei said that Rikuo will learn 'to protect' (Kurogane much?) thanks to Kazahaya.
He has a love-hate relationship with Kazahaya. Well, more like a hate-hate relationship with lots of sexual tension. They live fighting like cat and dog and seem to hate each other guts. Well, Kazahaya hates Rikuo's guts, that's for sure.
Rikuo past is a mystery, we just know some really vague things. He has a tribal tattoo on his back that seems to have a great significance in Rikuo's life. Since we see the series trough Kazahaya's POV, the most important thing we know about Rikuo is his reason for working in the store: to find a woman of his past, Tsukiko. We don't know what kind of relationship he had with her, all we know is that she was really important to him and disappeared some day. Saiga is trying to find her but doesn't have so much success. This distress Rikuo a lot, his worst fear is that she is already dead. How or why she disappeared is still a mystery.
Personality: Rikuo looks really mature and composed for a 17 year old boy, and for the way he talks with Kazahaya we can assume he has vast social experience and maybe in relationships (i.e., he teases Kazahaya for being naive and 'a virgin,' he is 'worried' about Kazahaya's chastity because he knows the other boy attracts all kind of persons due to his looks), and, unlike Kazahaya, he isn't deceived by Kakei and Saiga's antics. Rikuo doesn't talk much and isn't very open to people, but he likes to tease Kazahaya. A lot. Ironically, he is not so rude with other people besides Kazahaya.
He likes chocolate and knows how to cook (Kazahaya admits that Rikuo is a better cooker that himself). He likes sports (is really athletic), reading the newspaper while eating, and making Kazahaya mad.
